According to Florida Statute 627.0629, ALL insurance companies are required to offer Florida homeowners "discounts, credits, or other rate differentials..." for particular construction techniques that help to reduce wind damage caused by hurricanes, tropical storms and other windstorms related claims. |

| The more wind-resistant features your home has the more you qualify! |

Existing homes may already qualify for one or more windstorm discounts! Homes in Miami-Dade and Broward counties permitted after September 1994 already have many wind mitigation features and probably qualify. Homes permitted after 2001 in the rest of the state likely meet the same qualifications. |
| Ways to Qualify and SAVE: |

Wind resistant roof- including covering, deck attachment, construction type, and water resistance. |

Shutters, impact glass, or other protective features. (You will not qualify if you only have some shutters) All glass openings (unless impact) must be Miami-Dade approved or covered to receive credits. All exit doors must be hurricane doors, opening outward or must be shuttered. All garage doors must be Miami-Dade approved. |

Homeowners and Condo Associations also qualify for wind mitigation credits. |
